pK- An Honest Review peekay!

Alcohol acts a sedative on the central nervous system which in turn impairs the coordination and concentration. Hence, the system of judgement is weakened and suddenly speaking our mind out doesn't seem a bad option making you more honest.

So, here I am drunk after watching pK with that little bit of prejudice kicked out to give an honest review to the much awaited and talked about movie pK.

Indian fans are prominently divided in three streams- Shahrukh fans, Salman Fans and Amir Fans. So, if any Shahrukh movie comes out, vast majority of Amir fans will criticize that movie and vice-versa. Although pK makes an exception here. There were actually very less percentage of people disliking this movie. There were definitely some who had problems with the criticization of Hindu religion calling Amir an hypocrite for not commenting anything about the religion of Islam.

The movie starts off with Amir's spaceship landing on Earth for some research. His remote control getting stolen by an Indian person and how he manages to survive on Earth without any communication skills. Things take an interesting turn when he finds out the dedication with which people pray to God by bribing him. This makes him question the roots of religion by asking the most basic question- "Are you worshipping the right God?"

The movie manages to entertain the audience right through the movie. There were some loose spots in the movie here and there but still manages to pull it off nicely. Like any Rajkumar Hirani movie,  it was a great combination of story and humour with a strong message. This could definitely be the best movie of 2014, but one should definitely not compare it to 3 Idiots. If you go to the movie theatre with that mindset, you are ought to have disappointment.

The only problem with the movie was not to focus entirely on the topic it is sending a message on. It mixed up with the love story of Sushant and Anushka thus making the story line a bit weak although that part mixed up well with the story. The much focussed one-on-one Interview in the movie turned out to be an disappointment as it could have focused more on the strong point and less on their love patch. Another weak point with the movie was its music. It just turned out to be average unlike any other Blockbuster. The entertainment quotient decreases a bit due to that but the music and the songs actually fit in good between the dialogues, hence it compliments it well.

The best part of movie was Amir's acting. With this movie, he showed why is he called a perfectionist. He plays the character very well and certainly compliments it very well. If you are a deeply religious person and would not like to hear anything against religion, you still can watch the movie for Amir's acting for it was near perfection. Anushka, Sushant and Sanjay Dutt also plays an equal and important contribution in making the movie a success.

Overall, pK is definitely a movie worth watching. It sends a strong message to the audiences. As an atheist, this obviously weighed the movie in a good way. Year 2014 saw many blockbuster movies with same damaged story line, pK manages to end 2014 well with an entertaining story line and Hirani perfectly does what he is known for- teaching the people, coming out with new ideas to send a great message.

Love- Is it what it is??

What is the definition of love?
The most underrated and over hyped thing in this world.  Being in India, one could hear lots of crime and suicides done on the name of love. But why is that done? Is it because people expect something and get something else in return!!
I have most often being accused for not believing in love. According to people, love is like some fairy tale and things just start to look pretty good all of a sudden. Being a very realistic and logical person, I have always doubted that. I have always defined love as the combination of lust and habit. A person of any sex only gets attracted to the person of other sex because of his needs. Everyone wants just one thing eventually- Sex. Too bad, it's considered a taboo in our society. People feel shame in discussing these topics in open, thus undermining their needs and wants causing people to take extreme steps.
It really didn't start that way. The first child would have been conceived only because of an experiment and the need to expand your territory, thanks to Darwin's theory of Survival of Fittest. As  time passed by. the need to expand took the shape of lust. Everyone knows one takes better interest in doing things if they like it. People started liking it eventually and thus the taboo.
Whenever I talk about the lust and habit thing, the most common question I face is " Don't you love your Parents?"
Well, I definitely do according to your definitions of love but if we think better, we are basically habituated to live with them and like them. No one likes change. Once you get the habit of something, it's difficult to cope up with that. That causes the misconception of people that they still love that person.
The harsh reality is no one loves anyone. It's the time spent with them that matters. And if there was some concept of love, our society wouldn't have that much privilege for good looking people. I have never met a single person who doesn't want a partner as good looking as Aishwarya Rai or Tom Cruise. Every one appreciates beauty. But why is that? There is a simple reason behind that too. We ,primates  have evolved to live in groups and get their appreciation. Apparently, if you have a beautiful partner, your respect in Society increases.
I know, most of the people reading this blog won't agree to it. I have rarely met few people as of now who has the same belief as me. But again, if one reads this with open mind, this actually makes sense. The only answer I get most of the time is that you haven't found the right person yet. That's why you don't believe in this. Once you meet that person, you will understand what love feels like. I have a different theory for this too. What people call finding the right person is basically probability and compatibility for me. For me, If i get a person like that, it will be because I am compatible with that person because of our shared interests ans common thought process..

Freedom

The most misunderstood underrated word of all time; Freedom. It has a meaning which varies with every person just as the word perfect. No one knows what they understand by freedom and what will they even do when they get that opportunity.
The dictionary states the definition of freedom as " the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement ". For a five year old kid, freedom means to play as much as he wants without their parent's consent. For a teenager, it can mean a wide range of things right from doing drugs to sex to even being a psychopath. As the age increases, the outlook on life changes and so does the requirement and definition of freedom.
We are always told to be the person who really are, we should follow our interests. But the real thing is we eventually become the person whom we ought to be and see for our entire life. A kid can become violent if their parents are of forcing and decisive nature. Same goes with introvert and extrovert people. There are some traits in our genes but the environment in which we grow up moulds a person. So, the definition of freedom changes with every family.
According to me, a person can never understand the true meaning of life and freedom if he has not seen places and different circumstances. If one lives in a closed box, his thinking can never cross that limit. It always revolves around the same thing. The ability to make decisions and knowing people comes with having seen every kind of situation.

After Kabaddi League, India set to launch Champu Chidiya Ud League!!

First, It was ICL, then came IPL, then Hockey League, and now Pro Kabaddi League. These sports have really found a place in our hearts and have managed to generate great revenue too. Following the footsteps of these league games, Indian Govt. in collaboration with Malaysian Airlines is set to launch a game we all have been playing since Childhood- Chidiya Ud.

When our journalist at Faking News asked an officer related to this event, he said " All the other games which are being played are mostly western sports. We merely have adopted them. But this time, we need to publicize our own sports which all of us have played in our childhood and we still play. We have collaborated with Malaysian Airlines since their revenue is dipping, we are ought to help them and also it will add a new sense of excitement among players. For example if a person says Malaysian Airlines ud, they can only raise their half finger as Malaysian Airlines surely flies but gets lost in the middle." So we have new set of  rules, which will be full ud, half ud, and nahi ud. This match will be of 15 minutes." he added.

As of now 12 franchisees from all over India are participating in India. The teams are from Lucknow, Banaras, Patna, Ranchi, Bhobal, Surat, Nagpur,  Gwalior, Gaya, Mangalore, Ooty and Goa. The full name and the logo of the team will be finalised later. Meanwhile, It caused a stir in the Bollywood Industry to buy different teams.

KRK has been made the Chief Entertainer for this game. When we asked an official about the final reports, he said " This game doesn't require any investment, therefore no one could have done a better job than KRK who is finally happy to be a 2rs aadmi. This game has only been limited to smaller cities as they have much more popularity there and these days every city wants a team.

The CEO of this Champu Chidiya Ud League said " Right now, we are starting with 12 basic cities, but as we gain popularity, we want to reach every city of India which could account to almost 1200 cities. We want this game to be played everywhere and hence we are working on its popularity"

Meanwhile a Goa Minister finally seemed pretty happy with this move and said " It is a great move to preserve our culture and make our country move back to the stone Age. they have even named this league on me "Champu", he said with ecstasy.

Fallacy of Destiny

According to the definitions in dictionary, Traditional usage defines destiny as a power or agency that predetermines and orders the course of events. Fate defines events as ordered or "inevitable" and unavoidable. The term Destiny has been conceived over ages as something already written for you and you can't definitely change it.  If it is to be believed, your life is utterly useless. You don't need to do anything, If it's already written for you, something or other will definitely take you to that path, and hence the paradox.

Being an Atheist, I definitely don't believe in God, and hence I don't believe in anything that can possibly shape your future. You are responsible for your action and the result hence forth. I believe destiny is kind of a blame-game. This totally underestimates your capacity to achieve or do anything. For example, If u fail in an exam, you blame it on destiny that God had written for you and hence you failed. This vague reason can be applied to everything.

Living in the 21st Century, and as evolution explains, People should have become more smarter, more intelligent and cease to be responsible for their actions. "Everything happens for a reason" is totally a  deluded statement. The revised statement should be " Everything happens because of a reason". There is no karma or destiny. What you sow is what you reap. If you haven't studied for an exam you will definitely fail. If you are not wearing an helmet in course of an accident , there are high chances of head injury or even your death.

Now each of these events had some reason for which it happened. Nothing is written. If you would have studied, you would have passed, If you would have wore a helmet, you could have possibly survived. So things happens as you do it. You are the creator of your future, and your "destiny". For those who are interested in deeper logic of things, you can read my book here:  http://www.scribd.com/doc/230960076/You-are-God

Now, Some curious minds will ask "If there is no fate, how do you explain passing in an exam even when you have studied nothing just because you wrote answers that made sense and you just passed" That's a great question to be asked. But the answer is pretty simple. One word- Probability. There is probability behind everything happening. Even the creation of Universe was probability. The Big Bang was mere a probability giving us life as we know it.

The main gist what I am trying to explain here is that People should know that they are responsible for their actions so that they can make better decisions. If everyone stops blaming someone else for what happens with them, we could get a more logical and responsible citizens and thus a developed nation.

Just out of curiosity, If anyone wants to know my logic behind atheism and why i chose it, I wrote a book about it which explains the scientific detail behind it. U can download it here:

*********************************************************************************

Ask any random guy in India, "Why are you a proud Indian? What makes India different and proud?" The common answer will be it's culture. The way we have conserved our culture to this day is really to be appreciated and that makes India a cultural paradise.

Most of the Indian population above 40 years of age would strongly favor this point. But for me, this is one thing that is keeping India from development. At this age, India doesn't need any cultural wonder but jobs for all, forget job, food and shelter for everyone. It's the 21st century and still India's major problems are illiteracy and poverty. People would say I am totally diverting away from my point, but I am not. I will relate to each problem in the upcoming paragraphs.

Let's start with the condition of women in India. Well, it totally needs no introduction. India is famous all over the world for rapes and for how badly women are treated here in India. And who is to be blamed for this? Correct Answer. It's our culture. Right from the start, Women in India have always been figured as totally unimportant and sexual identity whose only work is to reproduce. And people of India have been carrying it all along in the name of culture, causing rapes and death almost every day in each part of India. Now I ask you this question. Is this what you are proud of?

Lets talk about illiteracy now. The main reason of Illiteracy in India is definitely overpopulation, as everyone would agree. People are being born at a much higher rate than the resources they are complying on. Go to any village, and mind it, 72.2% of Indian population lives in village, anyways back to the main point, most parents have 7-8 kids, and they are very proud of it. They will live in a small house, where there is not enough space to accommodate that many number of people, but still who is gonna stop them. They cannot use birth control methods even when it is being given to them for free, creating a new kid in house every year. Another reason for so many number of children is the aim to have a boy. They keep on doing their business until they get a boy, and then comes the lust for more boys. What's their use, when they are not sent to school for studies. This tradition has been going on for generations now, and guess what? We are really proud of our culture.

Another very shameful act going on still strong in our Indian Culture is the dowry system. It starts with their childhood. Girls are raised in India to do household items, cook great meals, and never ever talk back to the other sex. Even in well furnished family, it's such an irony that parents go on spending lakhs of rupees on dowry and marriage, but they can't afford to give an excellent education on that price, so that they could self sustain in this world. What strikes me the most is the Indian mindset on women. If a women becomes a widow or get divorced by any reasons, the society totally neglects that woman. In earlier times, women had to live their whole life in solitude. Don't forget such an amazing culture we have, and we have been protecting it so well.

Lets talk about the Great Indian Caste System. This is something Indians are always proud of. People cannot stop boasting about their caste in public and suppressing those of lower castes. With this comes, caste based politics and the amazing reservation system. The biggest loophole in the system if you are someone from lower caste, you can get admission into any esteemed college of the country even if you have got half of the marks, any general person would have scored. This thing made sense if it was categorized according to income not caste. There is a rule according to that too, but in India, if u have money you can do all kinds of work you want.. Another great example of what our culture has given us.

The last thing I would like to talk about is honor killing. That's one of the most shameless acts done by our so called "cultural" people. Many couples are burnt to death if they are found doing something against society. And believe me the rules are pretty stupid too, no sex before marriage, you can't find your own partner in marriage, and the list goes on and on. I, myself is not an advocate of Love (not again the concept of love, but in it's logic) , but people should have the right to do whatever they want, marry whoever they want. In our society, if a girl is seen with some random guy, she is categorized as a slut for having an affair before marriage. You can only marry a person of your parent's choice. I can never understand the logic behind this thing. How can another person know what you want or don't want. But still, this is India and logic eludes everything here. We have been carrying all along a great culture and we should not hamper it even when it blocks our freedom.

The only silver lining in India is that India is a young country with large no. of population in their 20s. That means there is still hope left. If every person is made aware of their rights, and are educated properly everyone can make their own decisions and scale India to a greater height. But looking at the current stats, It still will take more than 50 years to adapt to the surrounding, do what you want, not cling to any stupid culture, just because you were born with it...
