                          THE INSIGHTFUL MORTAL

                                           PREFACE

It starts at the moment you are born. At least in Hindu Culture, in which I was born, I have no idea about the others though. It’s an Indian customary to take the child to the Priest so that the God can bless the child, and his life goes on great. If that was not enough, there are many other customs which follow after the birth. We search for our God, the entire life, yet no one has proved its existence. Many people contribute their whole life to the service of God in hope for “heaven”.

But there are very few in this world, who understands the real God lies inside you, all of you. And so the title of this book “You are God”. Although I am an atheist, I am not against the belief of so many people. According to me, one can do justice to his life if he stops searching for the invisible man in the sky and starts exploring himself. That’s the only way he can grow. This book is totally about that. What are you? Why do we exist? Why do we make decisions? My Purpose of writing this book is to let the readers know about what’s really happening inside their brain and how can they benefit from it by knowing more about it.

This book has no connection whatsoever to my last book “The Insightful Mortal” although I would suggest the eager young minds to take a look in that book if you have lots of questions about religion and God. This book is totally focused on a person, his brain, his existence and what he ought to achieve in this Universe. Unlike my last book, I think this book is suitable for all kinds of readers whether they are religious or anti-religious. At least I hope so!!

This book has lot of technological terms associated with Quantum Mechanics and neurobiology, So if any of these subjects freak you out, you might have a hard time grasping it although I have tried my best to simplify the terms and write it in a language anyone could understand. And also, I haven’t got pretty deep in any of the topics, just covered what was needed to explain my feelings towards it.

Chapter 1 is “God”. It is a basic summary of what people conceive God as, what it really is, and how can you discover it in you. Chapter 2 is “Existence” This is rather a pretty interesting and burning topic. Almost everyone has doubts about it. What are we? Why are we born? These questions are answered in Chapter 2. It mostly takes the Quantum Mechanics path to explain our existence.

Chapter 3 is “Consciousness”. Many People have doubts about this as well. Do we really exist? Or is everything just an illusion? Many people actually believe it to be an illusion, thus spending their life in solidarity since they believe life is meaningless and we cannot extract anything out of it. This chapter goes into depth about this topic. This time, neurobiology will help us explain what our consciousness really is and do we need to spend a meaningful life even if everything exists.

Chapter 4 is “The Placebo Effect” I have always been a firm believer of this effect, although many don’t know what is. In layman’s term, placebo is basically a fake medication given to a person to trick his mind into healing the body. There have not been 100% results yet, but I believe Science has a long way to go, and this is an important key to that, tricking your mind.  The whole idea of tricking your mind sounds unrealistic to some and quite interesting for others. In this chapter, we will discuss about this and how it works.

Chapter 5 is “Spock”. Yes, the spock, your favorite character of Star Trek. Everyone familiar with Star Trek knows about how good he was in controlling his emotions. So I have dedicated this chapter to him which will discuss about the ways in which you can control your emotions and how can you benefit from it.
For the help in preparation of this book, I would definitely like to thanks Chiren Boumaaza A.K.A  Athene, who has now disappeared from his YouTube viral series videos. His videos on “Athene’s theory of everything gave me the first clue to write this book. The way he has used Science to prove these stuff is definitely mind blowing. So my sincere thanks to him for completing this book.

Anderson apologizes to Sir Jadeja

The recent event of an alleged fight between Anderson and Jadeja took a new turn today. Anderson apologized to Sir Jadeja just a day before the hearing and apparently the case has been adjourned. It is one of the first cases in ICC history where the case was dismissed on such grounds.

When our journalist at Faking News asked Anderson, what led him to take back the case and apologize to Sir Jadeja, he said, " Ever since that incident happened, nothing has been going well in our dressing room. Our players have started to feel unease and we are not able to give our 100% to the game. It's like God has wrath  curses on our team." When we asked Anderson, what really happened that day, he said " When I was bowling to Sir Jadeja, little did I know, he is a reincarnation of God. When I bowled him some dot balls, I thought I am greater than God and try to push him, but Sir tried to warn me of the consequences. I didn't really focus on that at  that time but now as I think of it, I can understand what have I done. Like any God, he didn't do anything himself but gave blessings to Rahane and Bhubeneshwar Kumar to destroy our team and it has been working all well for them." " I should not have argued with him at the God's own place- Lords" he continued.

When we talked to Sir Jadeja about the incident, he gave us a winky smile and said " People do mistakes. So did Anderson. He was consumed by anger. But being a Sir, It is my responsibility to forgive each one of them for their mistakes. I hope others will learn from him and don't do mistakes like this" he added, " The Lords is the mecca of cricket and having done that deed, he might have to face the consequences of losing this test but since I forgave him, it won't affect his long term career"

Dhoni who is always calm about these kinds of events said " This is the greatness of Sir to do this kind of act. Even I would had to think twice before forgiving me since he questioned the Lord on the Lords"

Meanwhile, our journalists asked opinion from Maria Sharapova about the recent events, and she said " Who is Sir Jadeja?" This has triggered anger among all the twitter fans and #askforforgivenessmaria is trending no.1 for the last 3 days. Also, In India, people were seen shouting slogans against Maria Sharapova for not knowing Sir. It seems like she will have to apologize too for this!!

New TCS train to be launched in Indian Rail Budget

In the revised Indian Rail Budget, the rail minister D V Sadananda Gowda announced a new train for TCS candidates. This train will travel through all parts of the country and drop the candidates at their required posting site. The Railway Minister also told the railway fees will be 40% less than the original amount giving the engineers a respite from their hectic accounts schedule.

This program has been brought into action in collaboration with TATA which will be funding the project. The manager of TATA said " Since, we are hiring so many candidates from almost all parts of the country, there was utter need for this to surface." " We will be providing best facilities to our employees in collaboration with the Indian Railways" he added. When Faking News asked the Railway Minister about this new deal, he answered very excitingly " This is a new beginning for India. India creates lakhs of engineers every year and majority of them go to TCS for job" "We owe our generation of young engineers this program, and finally ache days have come for our engineers" he continued.

When we asked the minister about the facilities being provided in this special railway, he said " This rail will only have general coaches with just seating capability. We have designed this rail according to the needs of Indian Engineers who rarely sleep. We will also be providing free Wi-Fi to every passenger of this train. The Pantry car will provide Maggi Cup Noodles and packet of Gold flakes as part of the meal" He further said " There will be liquor store also available in separate pantry car available which will also have the provision of in-house smoking" The only woes that Engineers will have to face is that there will be no girls allowed in this rail facility"

When we asked the review of this revised Rail budget from a student placed in TCS from a local engineering college in Bangalore, he seemed pretty excited about the facilities being available in the rail, but was also disappointed as there would be no girls here too. A mechanical engineering graduate said " This is injustice being done to us. We have already done 4 years of our engineering without any girls, now this has come as a big disappointment to us although the facilities here are pretty awesome"

Arvind Kejriwal also commented on the budget saying " This is all corruption, hum isi ka to janch karne aaye hai, This is injustice being done to engineering graduates from IIT who do not get placed in TCS, we demand a separate train for our candidates too. We will stage dharna on the top of this train to stop this non-sense".

IIT-IIM combo

In his maiden Budget, Finance Minister said that Government has budgeted Rs. 500 crores for building 5 new IITs and IIMs.The Finance Minister later said he wanted the young eager minds of India to be more like Chetan Bhagat. " Chetan Bhagat has been a source of inspiration for all of us. His love cum sex stories have inspired lakhs of young students of India to study hard for IITs so that they can enjoy their life as he did in IIT and IIM".

When we informed Chetan Bhagat of his contribution to the Indian Budget, he could not stop his smile updating his Twitter at the same time. He said " I am glad Indian Government has finally understood the importance of such premier institutions in our country. I completed my engineering from IIT and then my management from IIM. People should know how much hard work goes into it. I am a renowed author now and contributing significantly to the Indian Economy. More IITs and IIMs means there will be more Chetan Bhagat coming out of the closet and writing their personal stories and hoping it to be storyline of a blockbuster someday.

When we asked Arvind Kejriwal about his views on this, he said "This is all a scam. This is what we are fighting for." "The Government should have allotted money only for the IITs to showcase talents like me", he later added. " I am an alumnus of IIT and I have actually contributing in Indian economy by sitting in Dharna and organizing rallies, There is no need for extra management colleges as they might end up being like Chetan Bhagat or Rahul Gandhi".

Rahul Gandhi seemed surprised when we asked him this question. But after explaining him the whole scheme of events, he said "Sorry, I couldn't listen much as I was dreaming about the movie 2 states where I am the actor opposite Alia Bhatt. People say she is as intelligent as me" he added " The BJP Government has done nothing. We brought RTI, we brought Women Empowerment, they are just trying to defame us". When we asked him the full form of IIT and IIM, he looked puzzled and said "We brought RTI"

A night to remember in Indian Railways.

09 07 2014

My Train was scheduled on 10:40 PM from Durgapur Station in West Bengal. I arrived at the station on 10:25 PM. Contrary to my belief that Indian Rail is always late, this time it was just 10 minutes late, which can be considered as good as being on time here in India. Anyways, I boarded the train. As it was the night time, most of them were already sleeping ,so without making any more noise, I tucked myself in the upper Berth that I had booked in 3 AC compartment. As I am a frequent traveler, I have the habit of putting my luggage inside the seat, so I did that like always, and went comfortably to my seats.

The Train was headed to Patna. The time was 11:00 PM. Everyone was sleeping in our compartment, except a guy who was talking on the phone with someone. I was not feeling sleepy, so I plucked in my earphones and started browsing the Internet. Soon, the Guy talking on the phone started to talk out loud in his funny Bihari tone with combination of some chuckling in between. Everyone thought, this might be for a moment or so, and therefore no one asked him to talk softly.

It was 11:45 PM. Time passed by, but that guy was still no shorts of words. His funny voice had now become irritating and irresistible. At this point, everyone was just looking for the right moment to scold him. After 2 or 3 minutes, a guy sleeping adjacent to him finally did, but it still took him another 3 minutes to end that talk. Anyways, He did stop talking and now it was the time for some random sound coming from the AC or Fan. That was irritating enough but in India, you need to learn to compromise.

Also, according to some new Government rule, there are no more curtains available in 3rd AC compartment. So you can now totally forget about safety and privacy. It was midnight now and i was tired too, so I quietly went to sleep without any more complaints. The Train was scheduled to arrive Patna at 6:30 in the morning. Generally, you cannot expect to get a full night sleep in Indian Railways because of all those noises and weird Indian habits,

It was 6:30 AM. To my surprise, I couldn't wake up this time from the noises early, the train was 10 minutes late and was going to reach Patna Junction in another 10 minutes. So I got off my seat on the way to Washroom, and boom, my Baggage is gone. I never actually expected that. Someone had already been gone with my baggage full of clothes. Luckily, I did not have any documents or Laptop in that baggage, so it was not a big pain in the a**. But Still, Losing anything hurts especially when you didn't anticipate it. Despite knowing I wouldn't find my baggage ever, I searched for it in the compartment, but with fail. With a Country so big with so much people, I assumed I would never get that back, got off the platform and headed home.

The thief must have got a real treat though. Getting a baggage full of new clothes , one could assume he could have earned tens of thousands of rupees in one day. Thieves generally get curses, but he was the chosen one. The baggage also had the famous "Misti Dahi" from Bengal which is damn delicious. What a royal treat for him!!

Where does our morality come from?

                            ****SOURCE: THE INSIGHTFUL MORTAL*****

“Satan worshiping scum . . . Please die and go to hell . . . I hope you get a painful disease like rectal cancer and die a slow painful death, so you can meet your God, SATAN . . . Hey dude this freedom from religion thing sux . . . So you fags and dykes take it easy and watch where you go cuz whenever you least expect it god will get you . . . If you don't like this country and what it was founded on & for, get the fuck out of it and go straight to hell. PS Fuck you, you communist whore . . . Get your black asses out of the U.S.A. . . . You are without excuse. Creation is more than enough evidence of the LORD JESUS CHRIST'S omnipotent power.”

These were the exact words used by some creationist found on the internet. And they ask, where does your morality come from? Need I say more? And does your God need so extreme defense just to prove him.
This is the most common question asked by almost all the people “If you don‟t believe in God, what do you live for, and where does your morality come from? And yeah, you must be very selfish”.

Well, I have a questions from Atheists too “Do u need a religion to be moral? Is it necessary to be connected to “God” to do things of sympathy, and kindness”, if your answer is yes to these questions, there is lack of morality and empathy in you, my friend, not atheists. We can still have dignity, sympathy and other traits without any religion to cling to..

Some intelligent creationist might ask, if you believe in Darwin‟s Theory and theory of natural selection, then you must be utterly selfish, and should not at all care about others.

Well, yes, there is logic behind that too. There is a saying in English “You scratch my back, I will scratch yours”. The whole reason lies behind this simple sentence. Evolution has always worked out this way. Primates were evolved to live in groups. So, with passage of time, they have started to feel the need for empathy. This explains the reason, why you feel sad, looking at a homeless child begging, or a dog being hit.
Other emotions like sexual desire, happiness, and sadness have all been evolved from scratch. The theory of natural selection states that to stay in the environment, you have to dominate over other organisms. So to survive over other organisms, humans needed to grow in number, this caused the desire for sexual intercourse and hence reproduction. The best way for natural selection to build in both kinds of lust in ancestral times was to install rules of thumb in the brain. Those rules still influence us today, even where circumstances make them inappropriate to their original functions.

Evolutionary Biologist Richard Dawkins in his book “The God Delusion” has explained all about the Darwinian Theory and detailed reasoning for the sympathy we have developed. He has also explained in his book, about mathematical game theory in this study. “Mathematical theory allows two broad classes of stable solution to 'games' of this kind. „Always be nasty' is stable in that, if everybody else is doing it, a single nice individual cannot do better. But there is another strategy which is also stable. ('Stable' means that, once it exceeds a critical frequency in the population, no alternative does better.) This is the strategy, Start out being nice, and give others the benefit of the doubt. Then repay good deeds with good, but avenge bad deeds.' In game theory language, this strategy (or family of related strategies) goes under various names, including Tit-for-Tat, Retaliator and Reciprocator. It is evolutionarily stable under some conditions in the sense that, given a population dominated by reciprocators, no single nasty individual, and no single unconditionally nice individual, will do better. There are other, more complicated variants of Tit-for-Tat which can in some circumstances do better.

Another thing from human society has been build is trust. People who have gained trust among other beings, tend to get more generosity and the one who cheat, and go against society rules are punished. This causes the humans to behave accordingly with compassion to gain an important trust in the society.

The Harvard biologist Marc Hauser, in his book Moral Minds: How Nature Designed our Universal Sense of Right and Wrong has said “Driving our moral judgments is a universal moral grammar, a faculty of the mind that evolved over millions of years to include a set of principles for building a range of possible moral systems. As with language, the principles that make up our moral grammar fly beneath the radar of our awareness.”

I guess it might be an elaborate and detailed answer to the question “Where does your morality come from”. It‟s Science. If u just need religion to be moral, and to be approved by God, you have serious concerns to worry about, other than questioning science..
